Brief Evaluation Of Group Roles

We thought it would be fair if we all equally shared the group roles, instead of allocating a manager to each pacific role, we all participated in trying new things. As it was our first media product and we didn't have a lot of experience we thought this was a wise choice. I wanted to learn about new technologies and taking equal roles in the production enabled me to do this.

In this project I have:
-Helped to create a soundtrack (on the apple macs)
-Filmed a series of scenes
-Bin creative and arranged Mise-en-scene
-Starred as the main actor
-Used I-Movie to edit footage in depth (for the first time)
-Used a tripod and a runner
-Given ideas that we could use in our opening

Actors

We decided to use members from our group for our thriller opening. We would then be able to film whenever we needed to and it would be much easier for us to complete class deadlines. We came to a group decision that I would play the main character as the vunerable female, as I was the most suitable for the role.

Genre Of Film We Are Producing

Horror films are movies that strive to elicit the emotions of fear, horror and terror from viewers. Their plots frequently involve themes of death. For our practical production we choose to produce a hybrid and combine two different genres together; horror and thriller. We decided on this after we researched other possible genres, we found that thriller (horror) would enable us to create the most successful opening possible with the locations and props we have available.

Before starting out thriller, our group looked into many different thrillers that were successful in the box office. For research purposes we checked the pearl and dean website gave us informations about films such as the gender, age group and class of people who viewed the film, this helped us target a audience.
