Written Pitch
To begin with we wanted to produce a horror film but as time progressed our thoughts changed and we wanted to produce a hybrid. We thought about the idea of watching a man stalking a girl, through the use of photography would be a good idea. The film should create a mysterious atmosphere, and use different images to create a sense of confusion, our intentions are to puzzle the audience leaving them in suspense. We will then film a series of shots in the dark room using red lighting, we will show someone developing pictures of a girl, this will make the storyline clear to the audience. We are going to have scenes of the girl walking, we will then use parallel action and in-between the scenes will flash up of different images and shots of the credits. We the "stalker" follows the girl, the image will freeze as if he was taking a picture, to show clear indication to the viewer we will add a shutter sound voice clip on top. The film should be filmed in mainly black and white, and using P.O.V shots to signify a memory. We will have a chase scene playing through the sequence to build tension, in between we will have clips of other relevant footage. Our film will end with a loud scream from the females voice, the screen will go black and shortly after "Tagged" appears in a red font. We will use traditional music, something simple that towards the end builds tension, we will compose this ourselves.
Development Of Ideas
Our ideas changed many times, our initial script ideas was very different to our final product but we're extremely happy with the final outcome. We all decided that we wanted to make a horror but we wanted to do something different to everybody else so we combined two genre together (thriller and horror). This would then allow to be more creative and experiment with a range of different ideas and effects. We were inspired by the opening of "Se7en" and this gave us many ideas which we incorporated into our production. What we enjoyed most about the opening is the use of close-ups that were used without giving too much away, this leaves the audience in suspense so we mutually decided to incorporate this element into our opening. We needed a theme and decided on basing our plot on a stalker, this was relevant because we had suitable equipment to use and nearby locations such as the dark room and forest to film footage in. Our plot progressed from here and as we started to film and edit more ideas appeared so we all equally shared a roll in deciding the story.
